Fermentation broth contains extremely complex mixed components after fermentation reaction. In addition to target bioactive substances such as enzymes, peptides and microbial metabolites, the crude liquid carries a large number of inactive impurities, including bacteria residues, broken cell fragments, residual polysaccharide culture media, denatured protein colloids and fine suspended particles. If these impurities cannot be effectively removed in the early stage, they will cause turbidity of the finished liquid, block subsequent filtration and membrane concentration equipment, reduce product purity, and seriously affect the stability and shelf life of final bio-products.

Traditional fermentation broth purification processes have prominent technical bottlenecks. Static sedimentation requires a long standing cycle and occupies a large number of storage tanks, resulting in low production efficiency and material oxidation loss. Plate-and-frame filtration requires frequent replacement of filter cloths and a large amount of auxiliary filter aids, generating massive solid waste and bringing hidden risks of secondary microbial contamination. Vacuum filtration cannot completely remove tiny colloidal impurities, making subsequent refining difficult and restricting high-value utilization of fermentation products.

Sanitary disc stack centrifuge separation technology has become an upgraded and optimal solution for industrial fermentation liquid pretreatment. Different from traditional filtration modes relying on physical interception, centrifugal separation uses high-speed rotation to generate powerful centrifugal force, rapidly separating high-density cell debris and solid impurities from low-density fermentation supernatant.
