Tap water and underground raw water contain complex impurities such as calcium and magnesium ions, chloride ions, sulfate, soluble heavy metals, fine colloids and microbial flora. For general cleaning and civil water use, conventional pretreatment can meet basic standards. However, for pharmaceutical dilution, electronic cleaning, beverage production and boiler water supply, raw water with high conductivity and high salt content will seriously affect product quality and equipment safety. Excessive hardness ions easily cause pipeline scaling and equipment corrosion, while microorganisms and organic matter lead to water turbidity and unqualified sanitary indicators.
Traditional water treatment processes have obvious limitations. Multi-media filtration can only intercept large suspended particles. Activated carbon mainly removes odor and partial organic matter. Water softener only reduces water hardness. None of these processes can effectively remove dissolved salt ions, resulting in high conductivity of finished water, which cannot meet industrial high-purity water requirements. These outdated processes are unstable in water quality and unable to support standardized and high-precision industrial production.
Reverse osmosis membrane technology completely solves the bottleneck of traditional water purification. Under external pressure, the RO membrane screens water molecules and impurity components precisely. Salt ions, heavy metals, colloids, bacteria and macromolecular organics are thoroughly intercepted on the concentrated water side, while pure water molecules penetrate the membrane layer. The whole process adopts pure physical filtration without chemical dosing, avoiding secondary pollution and ensuring safe and stable water quality.
The RO pure water system adopts scientific graded pretreatment and membrane main processing design. Raw water passes through quartz sand filtration, activated carbon filtration and precision filter to remove large particles and protect RO membrane elements. Then the high-pressure system pushes water through reverse osmosis membrane for deep desalination and purification. The treated pure water features low conductivity, high clarity and stable water quality, fully meeting industrial production water standards.
In industrial engineering applications, single-stage RO system is used for conventional industrial pure water production, while two-stage reverse osmosis process is adopted for pharmaceutical, biological and high-end food industries to obtain higher-purity water. The system supports automatic PLC operation, realizing automatic water production, automatic flushing and high-low pressure protection. Timely membrane flushing effectively inhibits salt crystallization and organic fouling, extending membrane service life.
Compared with ion exchange and distillation water making methods, RO membrane water treatment has prominent advantages. It has high impurity removal rate, simple process flow, low energy consumption and no chemical regeneration pollution. The modular skid-mounted structure occupies small space and is easy to install and debug. Long-term operating cost is far lower than traditional water making equipment.
With the continuous improvement of industrial production standards, stable pure water supply has become a basic guarantee for enterprise quality control. Reverse osmosis membrane purification technology provides efficient, reliable and green water treatment solutions for various industries, and remains the most widely used core process in the field of industrial water purification.
