Modern herbal extraction production generates a large amount of wet herbal residues after water extraction and alcohol extraction. These waste materials contain residual extracting liquid, plant fiber, colloidal substances and moisture. Without effective dewatering treatment, wet residues occupy huge workshop space, are prone to mildew and bacterial growth, and cause secondary environmental pollution. In addition, a large amount of residual active liquid is wasted in the wet slag, resulting in low raw material utilization rate and invisible economic loss.

Traditional residue treatment methods have obvious technical defects. Natural air drying depends on weather conditions, requires long processing time and cannot support continuous industrial operation. Plate-and-frame filter presses require frequent manual feeding, cleaning and cloth replacement, resulting in low output, high labor cost and unstable dewatering effect. The residual moisture is still high after pressing, which is not conducive to residue transportation, incineration or resource reuse.

Horizontal decanter centrifuge technology completely solves the above pain points with continuous centrifugal dewatering performance. Under high-speed rotation, the spiral drum generates strong centrifugal force. High-density solid herbal fibers are settled on the drum inner wall and continuously pushed out by the differential screw, while low-density residual extracting liquid is separated and recovered. The whole process runs fully automatically, continuously and hermetically, realizing 24-hour uninterrupted slag-liquid separation.

Compared with traditional equipment, the decanter centrifuge achieves lower moisture content in solid residues and higher liquid recovery rate. The recovered clear liquid containing residual active ingredients can be returned to the extraction and concentration process again, improving the overall yield of botanical active substances. After dewatering, the dry herbal residue is small in volume, easy to transport, stack and reuse for biomass fuel, organic fertilizer raw materials and comprehensive resource utilization.

The fully enclosed structure avoids odor diffusion and material overflow, meeting factory environmental protection and sanitary production requirements. Adjustable rotating speed and differential speed allow flexible adaptation to different herbal materials, fiber thickness and moisture content, ensuring stable dewatering effect for various plant residues. The equipment features large single-machine processing capacity, small floor space and low maintenance cost, perfectly matching large-scale continuous production of modern herbal extraction factories.
