A flat plate centrifuge, commonly referred to as a basket centrifuge (due to its basket-like cylindrical drum structure), is a practical solid-liquid separation device widely used in industrial processes. Its core component is a horizontal or vertical "basket" drum with perforated walls; when the drum rotates at moderate speeds (usually 500-2,500 rpm), centrifugal force pushes the material against the drum wall. The liquid phase passes through the drum’s perforations and is discharged, while the solid phase (filter cake) remains in the "basket" for subsequent unloading.
